At the heart of the local community and an invaluable resource for all, the
Village Hall is host to a wealth of events throughout the year. From amateur
dramatics and craft fairs, to the ever popular quiz, the Village Hall is the
ideal venue to foster good relations in a safe and comfortable environment.
The Parish of Nayland and Wissington was fortunate in being able to refurbish
and upgrade its Village Hall in 1999/2000 with help from the Lottery and local
fundraising and the villages now have a fine Hall which supports the Community
in many of its activities. But the Community now has the challenge of keeping
the Hall up to a high standard. The general running costs of the Hall are a
little over £12000 a year but the income from hiring it out barely covers this
and it cannot survive without raising extra money to ensure there is sufficient
to cover major maintenance tasks and to put funds aside for future development.
The Village Hall Management Committee feels that Cashcascade® is an ideal scheme for raising some of this money. It enables Nayland and Wiston residents to support their Hall on a regular basis and have a little flutter at the same time.
