When Philip McTaggart lost his son Pip to suicide he could have been overwhelmed
by his loss and the impact on himself and his family.
Instead he founded PIPS the first community based suicide prevention charity in Northern
Ireland. PIPS Groups are now established in many towns across the region providing
support to bereaved families and those at risk of taking their own lives.
In today's world everything is so fast and furious that sometimes we don't see what is right in front of our eyes. Many bereaved families including Philip's regret that if they had been able to recognise a sign that something was wrong, they might have been able to safe their loved one's life. Philip established PIPS Programmes to develop training that saves lives.
At PIPS Programmes we have developed the first accredited suicide prevention training programmes in the UK or Ireland:
- Preventing suicides in your Community
- Preventing suicides in Older People
- Preventing suicides in Younger People
- Preventing suicides in Schools
We want to train as many people as possible to save as many lives as possible.
We have never charged any participant to attend our programmes and we never will.
By playing Cashcascade you will help us save lives - suicide prevention is
everyone's business - thank you for making it yours.
