Every year over 3,000 people die in the UK while waiting for an organ
transplant, but it doesn’t have to be this way. TSUK campaigns not only to get
more people to sign on the Organ Donor Register but also show the benefits to
wider society of transplantation.
TSUK organises sports and social events throughout the UK bringing together
transplant recipients in a range of activities helping re-build health,
confidence and the determination to live a full and active life, and take a full
part in society.
Children especially can feel different and vulnerable following an organ transplant, and TSUK works with team leaders throughout the UK to encourage children and young people to take part in active sports, not only to improve their health and speed recovery, but also to meet other recipient children with whom they can share their thoughts, worries, problems and experiences knowing they will not be judged by their life-changing surgery.
The annual British Transplant Games showcases our work with transplant
recipients and we actively encourage everyone to come along and see the work
that we do at first-hand - you can see the difference your support makes to the
lives of others. TSUK receives no Government funding to support our work so we
rely on the generosity of individuals like you to help us continue our vital
work. And what better way than with a little flutter? So please help us by
playing Cashcascade® today.
