United Response

United Response supports people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and physical disabilities to live in the community, across England and in Wales.

Set up over 35 years ago in one house in Sussex, we now work with around 1,500 people at any one time.

The services we provide depend on each person we work with. We can provide 24- hour support for people with complex needs. We can job coach someone into work. We can provide outreach support for someone with a mental health need or work with people to be in control of the support they choose.

The key is that we work with each person to do the things they want to do, supporting them to communicate what they want and tell us how we are doing. Lily France told us what our support had helped to achieve for her family;

"When our son's care was transferred to United Response in 2005 he was desperately in need of 24-hour support to meet his needs. Our son now lives in his own flat and has his own tenancy with a local housing association and is extremely happy with his life. We feel we are able to move forward to a more positive future thanks to a very dedicated team from United Response".
